Covers work when a well known band covers another well known band in a concert..
such as STP doing zeppelins 'Dancing Days' that was excellent...studio recorded covers ussually suck tho

but a creaky plante/page doing their own 'kashmir' 20 years after the fact was just sad to watch...
and the stones should be put down like a terminallu ill dog...

maybe thats why the beatles are still held in such awe and respect...they split up b4 they got sad and flabby like everyone else...they were still on top of their game when they packed it in...so theres no flotsam and jetsom crap recordings evry 5 years like the stones...

and i dont think anyone should copy pistols 'serious' like

1)if u have a bass player who actually can play a bass,its not gonna work ,,,sid was sid...he was useless on bass (unless he was smashing it on someones head) but he was 1/2 the band =)

2)only steve jones (guitar) was actually competent musically
..chugging guitar was 75% of a pistols song the rest was lydons snarling vox...

pistols were of there time...they couldnt happen now,theyd just be another greenday or bla bla bla

it cant be recreated...or it would be plastic and fake
