Depending on what kind of music you're looking to buy, Target is a good place to look. But most of their sub-$10 CDs are alternative or punk bands that don't get any radio play in this area. However, I bought the new Good Charlotte CD there for $8. They stay pretty consistent too. I bought the first Papa Roach CD back when it first came out for $7, I got 12 Stones for $8, Chevelle for $8. Those are just a few because I can't remember how many I've bought for those kinds of prices there.

The music that does get radio play here is a little bit higher though... from $12 to $14. But check their sale papers on Sundays, because they usually run some pretty good ones in there.

Seeing as how you're buying music for your kid, this probably won't make much of a difference to you, but CDs from target are also not edited for content like you'll run into at Wal-Mart. They sell their CDs the way the artists meant for you to hear them.

Hope that helps!
