Why isn't it important to protect other employees in a workplace-- but its important to protect the larger public (as implied in your post)? Why should construction workers not be drug tested? They could easily kill each other if they are under the influence. Why not some factory workers? How about teachers? Should they be allowed to teach while high?

I think any employer should be able to drug test **adults** at their discretion. They are liable for what happens in the company.
