So, what's up with all these terrorism warnings? At first, I was worried, then mildly concerned, then pretty amused (the "supermarket warning" gave me a big chuckle--as if!), and now just plain annoyed.

Why are they doing this? Is it a CYA move, so they can never be accused of falling asleep at the switch again? Or is it a way to keep us fearful enough to (1) not question Bush's bumbling of the whole War on Terrorism; (2) not notice Ashcroft's revocation of our civil rights; (3) ignore the fact that we're treating "enemy combatants" in ways worthy of the "axis of evil" (yeah, sinking to their level helps so much); or (4) miss the fact that Bush is screwing us over domestically, from his wink-wink to corporate theives to destroying the environment to (MY personal favorite) shipping nuclear waste on railroads through populated areas (like, right down the street from me, on tracks that caused a MAJOR derailment 2 yrs ago)?
