Were already doing a bit of this here in NY with the standardized tests...yup you can see which schools are doing better and which are not, the performance standards have definitely put the pressure on the school districts to do better, but it has also brought ALOT of negatives as well, teaching to the test for one, schools which "catagorize" high numbers of kids which traditionally would not have been put into special ed. 5 years ago, which in turn takes a pool of children out of their reportable scores.

I think were already into this, tho without the voucher system. Schools in my area are virtually indistinguishable, districts for the most part are doing a "good job", percentage wise when looking at the standardized test scores you are seeing a 5-10% percentage variation.
