The term is black. Or another term you often hear is "person of colour", but that can refer to ANY racial minority.

We do use phrases like "Indo-Canadian" to refer to Indians, though. Some Indo-Canadians don't like that either, as they identify as CANADIAN.

Race is such a meaningless category, yet one with such ramifications for people of colour in our society. Wouldn't it be nice if we were all just a lovely shade of tan?
