I didn't want to go into detail on BC, but I think it'll be ok here.
Pregnancy.org was started by an ex-Community leader of BC. About a year ago, I guess. A lot of the BC hosts believed her "side" of the story when she was terminated from BC, and alot of us didn't. Those who believed her left BC to help her start her new website, and they have continually bashed BC since then.
I see comments about how "tame" BC is on lots of other boards. So what? If someone wants something non-tame, there's plenty out there to choose from.
I've been participating on the Debates and Discussion board at bf.com (happy now, Alan?!?!? :P). It's not specifically a feeding issues board, although there have been several threads about infant feeding. That's how BC got dragged into it. Another poster made a comment about how it was the advocates at BC who helped her with bfing subsequent children after she had ff'd her first one(s), and I guess some of the regulars at bf.com saw that as opportunity to drag their judgmental attitudes over to BC.
It's all water under the bridge now, so I don't mind explaining it. I think that people need to know that there are different types of infant feeding debate boards - those like BC, where most advocates *are* out to inform and help bfing moms, and those other boards, where the emphasis is less on actual education, and more on "let me build myself up because I'm a better mother than you..."
Oh, and about Jennifer's Journal - yeah, it got bad. I can't remember the specifics - evidentally she wasn't as AP/(whatever label) as some posters thought she should be, and she got a lot of hate email/comments.
