i guess i should be a lot happier! i just realized that the cable is still off, and was off in about ? september? isn't that when football starts??? what's more, they don't seem to play as much video games and watch as many movies as they did... (well, they have a 2nd t.v. in the back room where they disappear but i still think it is less...)

thanks jonathan, if i didn't have this string, i wouldn't realize that it has been nearly 4 months!

by the way... we went on our first family vacation for no purpose other than "fun" (are you SURE that isn't a four -letter word?). we went to the desert with a friend who has all the toyz! quads. i "caught air"! (i'm old enough that this surprised everyone.) i was responding to my friend's urging that one must be aggressive to get over the top of a sand dune, and so i did. perhaps a bit too aggressive... though it was fun being about 4 feet in the air before coming back down! everyone enjoyed it. there was horseshoes and a "man's game" of "risk" (the board game) and chess and bonfires and exquisite night, sunrise and sunset scenery... dunewalking... and best of all... a growing closer with friends and family.

movies went with us, but they accompanied and did not dominate.
