Subject: screaming hatred and filth

it doesn't surprise me that most of the postings i have read here that are absolutely laced with filth and screaming hatred come from those very people who are defending the tube -- all the while trying to suggest that one can't substantiate the claim that t.v. promotes violence! i have often seen such contradictions go undetected. you're proving the point you set out to defeat.

those of us who have cut the tube out of our lives are far less likely to slander each other, verbally attack, or make pointless insults. we don't see any glory in it. being rude and abusive isn't a daily hero-worship ritual.

you're so angry that it isn't even possible for you to set aside your furious temper long enough to investigate what life without the tube might offer. it's a much nicer place where we encourage and nurture, build instead of destroy. we have less reason to be angry. think about it. does all that anger make you feel good? happy? can you honestly say that you don't see all the thousands of repetitive indicators in t.v. that violence is the way to live, or the connection between the blow it up, smash it up, abusive t.v. dialogue and the way you attack people you've never even met without starting to consider their points of view?
