SYNTARSUS, you are too much! I can understand why you feel so alone - you actually have a mind that you're not afraid of! Keep using it, and don't worry about others catching up. I wish I could guaranty that you will find some kindered souls to share your life with, but as I have yet to figure out where they live... Just don't make the mistake that I've been commiting for more years than I care to mention, and that is "dumbing yourself down" for others.

You're observations regarding the effects of musical vibrations are very interesting. One thing that I read about music that features a lot of repetitive beats ( and this can be anything from Rap to Country. In fact the study I saw was conducted using Country Music) is that it puts the mind into the same 'suggestive' phase as hypnosis. Once there the mind is open to all the suggestions, good or bad, not only in the lyrics but from whatever other input that is around (other people, TV) The problem with this is the suggestions are almost always incomplete and can put the mind into a sort of frustrated state. And since we know that our thoughts affect us on a cellular level, that frustration can be felt in the body as tension or a generalized feeling of not-quite-feeling-right.

Your mention of music's effect on plants reminded me of an experiment a friend of mine did for a Biology class back in High School: He grew several asparagas ferns and subjected all but one of them to a different type of music for one hour per day. The two plants that grew the best were the test subject (that heard no music) and the plant that was subjected to classical music every day. Another, even less scientific experiment, was conducted by myself when I worked for a Veterinarian and I had to bathe dogs and cats. The cats in particular were calmer about their baths when I played Classical music in the grooming room. They especially seemed to love Cello music (Yeah, Yo Yo Ma) I also read a book recently by the man who trained the dophins for Flipper, that old TV show (Oops! I said the dirty word:TV) and he said that while he was working with an Orca he would play the flute and the Orca would sit with it's head out of the water and listen intently to his little recital. And later a friend of his, the late Folk singer Fred Neil, would bring his twelve string guitar to the aquarium and the Orca would become especially attentive when he plucked the "D" string, even raising its head out of the water and touching the strings with its "nose" as if trying to strum the guitar itself! The musical note "D" has been found to be a common resonate throughout nature.

The importance of music in our lives also gets validation as scientists find out more about our bodies as energetic beings. It is slowly being proven that each organ in the body vibrates at a particular frequency (and what is music, but different vibrational frequencies) and an unhealthy organ vibrates at a less than optimal frequency. So, in theory, one day a Doctor confronted with, say, a tumor in the liver, will blast that liver with a certain vibrational frequency till it starts vibrating at that frequency itself and the cancer is killed. The composer Frank Zappa had a theory called "The Big Note" and he swore that if he could get his band to play the right combinations of notes at the right volume that, just for a moment, the sound vibrations of the music would create a solid. And just for the record, Zappa was one of the very few Rock musicians who never took drugs. He would in fact fire some very fine musicians if they showed up high for rehearsals or gigs.

Well, all this has strayed a bit off the subject of Christian Radio, but I think it is infinitely more interesting!
