Hey Mike, hang in there - you almost have your one year chip (just kidding). So you haven't read any classic books? Big deal - how about some trashy ones? Or even comic books? At least the brain will be engaged.

It sounds like your looking for some cheap, easy entertainment - nothing wrong with that! And the TV does supply that in mass quantities. Have you thought of just hooking up the VCR and renting movies? It beats the broadcast stuff, and at least you're in control and conciously watching something by choice rather than chasing channels in the hope of finding something tolerable.

Any hobbies you can persue while couch-bound? You can learn to make your own music (or if you already play an instrument, learn to play it better) Maybe there is a craft you've always wanted to learn, like leatherwork or something like that. In no time at all you could be way ahead on homemeade Xmas gifts for everyone you know! It keeps the hands busy but gives the brain a rest.

Try something new on for size...
