I am about to reach a year without TV, I quit the 1st week of June 2002. But, now I'm thinking about watching again, at first I thought it might really help improve my attention span,I thought it might be now I don't think so. I really wanted to improve my reading by reading the classics (Shakespeare etc..) and listening to better music like classical (Mozart, Bach). But, I like classical music sometimes and I haven't read any classic literature, whic I think thats telling me that I'm not really interested I'm fairly couch bound because I have problems with my back so sometimes TV would really be a nice change to relax. Now I just listen to alot of news radio or sit in front of the computer. I don't know what everybody else is doing but my time on the computer doesn't seem that educational or that it's improving my life in anyway, except forums like this where you can communicate with other people. I think the bottom line for me now if I'm not going to enjoy reading better books or finding other more beneficial activities a movie is started to seem more interesting than listening to books on tape or talk radio. Obvouisly I like the idea of not watching TV else I wouldn't have done it but now I have this weekend in front of me which I'll spend mostly in front of my PC. I still haven't decided if I am going to go back, of coarse if you had some control you could watch in moderation but I'm always concerned that I am going to go back and watch the same Seinfeld episode for the 5th time. I guess that's my concern. Just felt like whining. Thanks. Mike
