i used to smoke and bite my nails. the key to kicking any habit is to find a competing activity that is inconsistent with the bad habit. for example, you can hardly smoke when you are in the shower. it is hard to bite my nails while washing dishes or juggling.

you must activate your mind. but like exercise, i suggest you make it interesting, otherwise you'll slip into the old routine.

the wonderful part is when you've been there a while. you smile and are so proud when someone names an actor or sit-com you have never heard of. but it has it's hardships too. you suddenly realize that all those loved ones are still trapped inside the box, and reluctant to come out!
