Subject: Hi C. I am like you. I can fall asleep the minute my head reaches the pillow ONLY if I go to bed at my usual time. However, if I stay awake even half an hour later than usual I have difficulty falling asleep. On those occasions I try to relax myself and do deep breathing. Basically I follow yoga relaxation techniques. I tell imagine that my muscles are getting heavier and heavier as I inhale for 10 counts and exhale for 10 count. Five or six time and I am a goner. I hope that you get back to your normal sleeping pattern tonight.
