Subject: Ebay advice...and other miscellaneous jargon

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been checking in as regularly as I'd like, but with classes just ending and the trek home it has been a busy few weeks. So how have ya'll been?

Anywho, my questions. I'm looking to sell some of my old textbooks that the university won't take back on Ebay, but am not sure how to go about doing that. I have bought off Ebay but never tried to sell. Does anyone here do that kind of thing regularly or at all and can offer me some pointers or advice. Some of the Pay Pal stuff and such confuses the beegeesus out of me so if anyone can offer anything, anything at all, please don't hesitate. Thank you in advance!!!!

[> [> Thanks, KatRose! I'm definitely going to have to take you up on your offer. I'm too tired and lazy to do anything about it tonight, but you can be expecting an email from me. Thanks again for your help. -- Sara, 22:18:33 05/23/05 Mon [1]

[> I sell my textbooks on Half.com. It's now owned by Ebay, but they still don't charge you anything for listing your book. And it's not an auction; it's just whoever wants to buy the book from you will, at whatever price you set. It's similar to how people sell their used books on Amazon.com. -- Nadja / Jennie, 23:21:05 05/23/05 Mon [1]

[> [> I agree - I don't have much experience, but I would think you might be better off with half.com or amazon, where more people might be looking for used textbooks (amazon is always the place our profs suggest buying ours! they don't like our school bookstore!) it just seems like some people might go there looking, and might not think of e-bay... -- Aria, 13:29:48 05/26/05 Thu [1]

[> Thanks for the tips, ladies! I'll have to look into half.com, but for now I've decided not to try and sell my textbooks anywhere until next fall. Right now summer sessions are already starting and people probably aren't really looking for used textbooks right now so it might be best to wait until next fall when fall sessions start up again. I might try something else on ebay, just for fun using all the advice that Ebay Guru Kat has given me. Thanks again! -- Sara, 17:00:15 05/27/05 Fri [1]
