Subject: I screamed too! Flat out scream of total shock! In fact, I was so startled at myself that I didn't realize there had been an accident until the show was over. I rewound several times to watch the last 5 seconds. I'd give the episode a B and the cliffhanger an A+. More....
In reply to: Lisa 's message, "I screamed! And almost dropped my laptop! So how did the rest of you Alias fans react to the last five minutes?" on 23:07:19 05/25/05 Wed

Lisa and I were watching and chatting and we kept saying...okay....cliffhanger.....what's the lead up...when will it happen. That was almost more surprising than season 2!

I agree with everything Kat said above about Nadia, Jack, and the questions about Vaughn.

The reason why I really used to love Alias is because it was a puzzle. Questions were being asked, and connections were being made, and sometimes things would be figured out and there would be a reveal. The fact that her mother was KGB in season one, and then all the questions that Syd answered and the final reveal that her mom was alive and at the CIA the next season. I liked the way the pieces fit.

I still love Alias. It's still my favorite show, but the reason I love it so much doesn't really apply so much, and really applies to Veronica Mars--which is my new obsession. Veronica Mars is on UPN and as such doesn't get the audience it should. It had a mystery. Little clues were given, and in the season finale there was a wrap up. I'm not saying that I wish Alias would wrap things up, but the connections are starting not to go anywhere. They just lead to more questions. The answers we're getting are not satisfying me. For example. The whole thing about sisters battling and the whole prophecy? Okay---it turns out it was all because of the big red ball? Granted--it was shown to be apocalypic, but.....the way they solved it wasn't anything much more than a regular mission. I don't get it. Why did Syd have to disarm it? Is that the whole reason she was the chosen one? If the Mueller device was around in Season one and that was IT, then why all that stuff with Il Dire? What did Nadia have to do with it? Sure they fought.....but......

Anyway--I love the questions, but I'm starting to 'feel' the writers filling in the pieces of the back story instead of moving forward with a plan and showing us clues that are leading up to something. Even this thing with Vaughn. His story might end up making complete sense, but I can't help feeling like one hole is being filled with the dirt from the one freshly dug right next to it.

Gosh I am long winded. Sorry to babble on.......if I make any sense, feel free to let me know. If it's just a pile of letters on the screen that's okay too!
