RSS stands for some longer name. Basically, you can download a program that keeps track of sites you visit that update often. So instead of going back and forth to your bookmarks and checking to see if your favorite columnist or blog has new content you have an icon on your toolbar that will alert you when those sites you chose have updates. It eliminates the constant checking.

That's what it does. Here's the USA Today column I read that explains a bit more.

Here's what I've found.....Netflix is where I first heard of it, so I have my Netflix list on my RSS list. But, a lot of the other sites that I check for updates don't have RSS feeds. That I can find. You can't just type in the main url for the site---the site has to offer a RSS feed. USA Today does it, and I'm going to look into some other columns that I like to read, but just don't because I forget to track them down.

I will keep you posted as I learn more!
C
