Subject: inexperienced rider buying a horse

Hi!
I would like to buy a horse for myself (29 years old) and a pony or very small horse for my daughter (3 years old). I have taken about a dozen lessons in the past five yearsbut have never had the finances to be consistent. I only mention the lessons because I know I love riding ( or learning to ride), but I am still an absolute brand new beginner. If anyone has any advice for me on a couple of issues I would really appreciate it. First, is it poassible to find someone who would help me make the right choice when buying a horse..a horse consultant of sorts? My thought is that I would pay someone to advise me on what is an appropriate disposition, age, price, atc. In regards to my threee year old; is three too young to begin sitting on a horse and getting a feel for things? I would greatly appreciate any thought at all.
