Subject: conditioning a leather saddle

This is a very elementary question, but I recently bought my first saddle, and am trying to condition it. Do I condition the knee rolls? I am also fairly certain that I do not condition the under part of the saddle (the part that touches the horse), I would just like conformation on that point.
Any other suggestions on how to make my saddle last longer, or how to keep it supple (it is still a bit stiff, since I only bought it yesterday) would be much appreciated. Thanks :)
