Subject: Should Boerboels be led into the PP or Sport World?

Dan G said: "Should Boerboels be led into the PP or Sport world? Having been down that road, I would say no because there's no real need for a dog of that size and type to do any protection work on a professional level. So you end up with hobbyists playing with 150 lbs. of fire."

I am confused where you read that EBBASA is trying to turn the Boerboel into a sport dog? From my understanding, EBBASA is proposing to form a steering committee of working boerboel breeders and owners to protect the original historical temperament of the Boerboel, so it doesn't turn into an empty-headed beauty queen.

This quote is directly from EBBASA's announcement on Facebook:

"The objective of the Group is to protect the historical temperament of the Boerboel to which not enough attention is being given and to preserve its working qualities into the future."

No one is proposing that the dog be turned into a sport dog.
