Subject: skin condition

I have a skin question. Our 1 1/2 year old male (Romulus) has had two bouts of a skin problem which the vet suspected to be a bacterial infection. The first time she treated him with a spray, and special shampoo. When that didn't seem to be helping she put him on antibiotics which seemed to be the key in clearing it up. Several months later it started coming back we called the vet and she put him on another round of antibiotics which she doesn't like to do very often. The symptoms are small dark patch on skin which is rough and hair comes out in that area then it turns into a scab. The hair eventually comes back but I am starting to notice new areas coming up. Has anyone else had this problem and any advice?
