Has your vet done skin scrape for fungus or mites?

I know one of my pups i sold over 2 years ago has been battling a staph infection in her skin. they live down in Florida near the beach and not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

They treated her with a round of Ciprofloaxin and pyoban shampoo once every 5 days.

I"d reccomend having a skin scrape done just to rule out any staph, fungus or demodex.

Also, check for fleas and lice. I've been noticing an increase in dogs in our area with patches like that from the dogs scratching from fleas and lice bothering them. A good bath with dawn dish soap followed up with a topical or oral treatment works. YOu need to treat your yard and dog area as well. I spray my yard and kennels every 3 months. We have fleas down here bad and keeping the infestation down is hard because of the wildlife, pastures, ect..
