Digial camera
Notes:
She also owns a palm pilot though that is fairly recent. She has a CD player and a tape player - actually several of each it sounds like - and a cell phone too.

7A) How do you learn to operate a device ?
Like somebody to instruct you

She almost always ask someone to show her how to use the things that she owns - it is generally not a problem finding someone to do this. She has never used online help and it sounds more like she does not like it rather than is not familiar to it - she explains that she is very communicative and, therefore, she really likes discussing things with other people.

8) Do you own a music system ?
YES

Where do you place the system?
In the living room - She lives in a small apartment so there is not much more room than this.
Bedroom

What are some of the physical features that you like about the system you own?

She really likes to see what the buttons say without her reading glasses - this is very important. The need to be clearly marked. The system need to be simple and easy to operate. The buttons should be in a logical sequence - like you would think they should be.

What are some of the physical features that you dislike in this system?

She really does not like it when she cannot see and has to use her glasses to look. She noted here that the design itself is not nearly as important as the function - actually, not really important to her at all.

What are your preferences about features in the music system that you own?

In a CD player, she really likes its sequential ability - its ability to play a bunch of CD's - you can put the CD's in and not have to worry about it. Small is important. She also likes it to be attractive.

9) Do you own a portable music device such as
Walkman cassette player
CD-walkman

9A) How much would you be willing to pay for a music system that is portable?
Specify a price range.

75$ - well, maybe 100$, I asked her if that is all she would spend for a CD player or tape player regardlesss of the number of features it has. She said yes, that is about her max., she does not like a lot of features, what good are they.

If answers to question #8 or #9 is a yes then go on to question #10 otherwise jump to question #14.
10) Give your comments / suggestions / preference on the following appearance features of your music system?
Colors used for the system?

This does not matter.

Buttons’ sizes

The need to be manageable, seen, she notes that she hates a lot of the cell phones now, you cannot find the buttons. She has a cell phone which is large because she can feel the raised buttons and find where they are.

Buttons’ style ( Toggle button. Sliding type, dials )

She likes buttons for most things, sliding is ok for volume. She cannot remember the last time she used a dial for anything.

Size and weight of the system?

The matter a lot because she likes to use the walkman when she is exercising.

Material ( plastic /metal )

Plastic - because she does not want any sharp points - wants it kind of roundlike.

Do you use / like to use headphones?

Yes

Do you like to use / prefer to use / not mind using / mind using Battery operated devices? How about a rechargeable battery operated device?

It does not really matter.

11) What are some of the features that you would like with respect to functionality of your system?

I did not ask this - I felt that she had already covered it.

12) What are some features that you would want your system to have?

Volume. The ability to tune it in. Maybe Bass and trebble. That is really it. She can see other people likeing to program the tracks in thier CD players but she does not care about that too much - she does not do it.

13) From the selection below, mark the functionality/features provided by your current system?
Radio receiver included - on her stereo and one of her portables - she owns a CD player with a radio.

Yes. She has bought books from Amazon.

16) If the answer to the above question # 15B is yes, then could you describe your experience? What did you like
best about the process / web site ? What did you like the least?

Its really easy and it cheaper than a bookstore. She really dislike having to give any personal information to anyone - and does not like to use her credit card - she does not trust it.
