Root Concept:

Goal:
To design an easily operable MP3 player for people in the age group 55 - 80 years

Rationale:
The idea of designing some device's features chiefly for this demographic is challenging and novel. Most people in this demographic try to remain very active despite any failing abilities and senses. We want to address various usability issues from their perspective and design a music player to suit their needs. This rationale is based on some of the following assumptions:

Assumptions:
Most MP3 players and technology associated with their use is too complicated for the specified demographic to learn and use easily. The interfaces designed are inconvenient to use also. Some people in this age group will not care too much about a lot of cool features in their music system, but do want a device that is simple to operate and uncomplicated to learn and use. We assumed that most people in this age group dont even listen to music for very long periods but might want to have a device that is lightweight, with prominent physical features and convenient to carry around features.
