Subject: My reflection


About the first part of the project (MP3 for the elderly)

I am so glad to work with my teammates. We had a wonderful time. We meet at least once a week to figure out the implementation of the every step of our project.

Before the interview, from intuition, I thought elder people are reluctant to use computer-based MP3 play due to the lack of knowledge and skill of using the computer and software. My assumption is proved by the feedback of our interviews. To find a people who is over 70 knowing the latest technology is really challenge to our team and me. My interviewee is a 56 male, outdoor worker, he has a computer, but never use it to surf the internet at home. It seems to me computer is not that important to him at all, let alone MP3. But after hearing my explanation about what compute can do and what MP3 is, he is kind of obsessed with it. Therefore, I think elder people still have the wills and ability to accept the new idea as long as we can make it as simple and accessible as possible.
