Subject: How to build a copper scalloped roof?

I am a builder but I am having trouble with a copper scalloped roof. I am not to sure how to frame it and I am having the most trouble finding any resource that can help me. It is over a bay window that has 45 degree sides. The roof is done Hip style where the corners come backinto the house on 22.5 degree angles. I am placing an 11-12 pitch on the rafters but am having trouble with an easier way that just hit and miss construction.

I don't write three page explainations on how to do something. These are things learned through experience in the trades. You don't need to frame it hit and miss but there are thing that should have been taught to you before you became a journeyman. Experience should be your guide, absent that you are lost in the woods. You are dealing with mathmatical computations to find you lengths and angles.

I suggest you find help from someone that trained you before you went out on your own because this will require face time between you and the one that shows you how to do it.

Sorry I can't help from Cyberspace.

A Roofer
