Well you do have some good points and I won't argue about Padme. I think Star Trek has some good points to. Obviously Star Trek has transporters very handy! I think hand phasers ARE more powerful than blasters on their highest setting, but not as powerful as is stated in the tech manuals. hyperdrives are far faster than warpdrives. Sub-light speeds and maneuverability are about the same in my opinion because it has never been proven otherwise. I say this because I've watched every episode and every movie of Star Trek, as well as all of the Star Wars movies. After comparing them to one another they both look and seem equal. Small ships like the delta flyer are no faster than the falcon I recently saw an episode of [VGR] where the Delta Flyer raced another ship through an asteroid feild to a comet on the otherside. Tom even used new and improved impulse drives that popped out of the sides for extra speed. Now you can clearly see that the delta flyer was fast and maneuverable. BUT not any faster or more maneuverable than any ship in the same size catagory from Star Wars! I'm sure there good examples of Trek acceleration that you could give me and I wouldn't deny them. As far as the other things like size and power I stand by that. To build a moblie battle station like the Death Star is beyond Starfleets capability. That example alone testifies to some of the technilogical prowess the Empire has. As for the Cloaking device thing the Romulan shuttle was not that much smaller than the falcon, but you have a point Cloaking technology isn't at the same level as in Star Trek. But neither the Borg, nor the Dominion used cloaks and they have both brought the Federation to its knees something the romulans have not been able to do. Unless Nemisis changes that! Besides there could have been more to that comment that we aren't aware of. But after fairly judging Star Trek, mainly Starfleet against the foes they have been pitted against. I find the Imperial war machine to more than a match for the Federation. That comment is not made lightly or out of predjudice towards Star Trek. Actually I enjoy them both very much. Allthough the technobabble seems slow the pace of Star Trek sometimes. Simply Star Wars doen't have that their technology just does what it does no explaination given. We as fans just have to be entertained and not worry about it. But when we do its hard to explain things that don't exsist. Hense the technobabble. Only there isn't enough of it in Wars so the debate becomes onesided. If you apply Trek science to Wars ships you'd see what I mean. Anyway noone really knows for sure its up to us fans to decide that. Peace
