This is true. V'Ger was very powerful it 97 km long suronded buy a cloud 4 A.U. in diameter, so it was death star scale. But if the Imperials had a superweapon available then I'd say that V'Ger was toast. However it V'Ger was dealing with the Old/New Republic, then a Jedi knight would be dispatched and situation similiar to [ST:TMP] would be played out. Although the Jedi would probably have to sacrifice him/her self to join with V'Ger.

However I doubt that any conventional starships could deal with V'Ger.
