In reply to: FYI 's message, "ve volunteers willing to do all that it takes to run a pageant." on Saturday, January 06, 02:46:40am

That is a terrible thing to say. You have no idea how much time and energy it takes to run a state pageant. Be thankful that you have volunteers willing to do all that it takes to help young women realize their dreams and earn scholarships.

Local directors, volunteers, and contestants do not get the support or respect they deserve from the State Board. I agree with the talk on the MAO board, that there should be term limits for State directors.

Agree, it's time for a change, and change of venue, too!

I agree. New leadership and a new venue are needed to revive the program in MD. Why not bring Miss Maryland to Annapolis or Baltimore where there are many more options for sponsors and nicer venues? I say out with the old and in with the new all around!
