Using the audio out (mini phono/stereo) on the back of my tower to an adapter (mini phono to RCA/Y). I could then feed the line out audio signal straight to the MD recorder. This may not be the most efficient or practical but I can assume that the signal is true audio. Now can I reverse this process to give as well as take?????

As for the traffic I don't blame you. I do listen to mine however I'm a stereo & music freak. I have all the bells & whistles so I can drive for hours w/out touching the radio.
Also live in a small town (compared to DFW) so traffic is much easier to negotiate. Going cross country it's the only way I stay awake when traveling alone.
