Actually, this could depend on several factors, Chuck. - The first being whether your tower is setup for amplified or non-amplified speakers. Another would be if the MD recorder had a preamp on the input. If your soundcard has a "Line Out" jack, you are probably in business.
All in all, I would say to give it a try, as it has a very good chance of working the way you want, although I will remind you again, that I am not that familiar with MD's. In fact, I didn't even know they made MD recorders. It must be a fairly expensive unit.
If you have the owner's manual for the MD recorder, I would suggest you review the requirements for recording first.
Remember that a "Line Out" and an "Audio Out" have drastically different levels of output, and feeding a signal from an audio output into an input with a preamp on it that is designed for a Line feed could possibly overload and blow the Preamp.
(A "Line Out" is picked off the output before it has passed through the amplifier).
Newer computers are setup for use with amplied speakers at the factory, and the "Speaker Out", or "Audio Out" jack is actually a "Line Out" jack. If this is the way yours is setup, you should be in business.
In other words, if your computer uses Amplified speakers, go ahead and try it.
