Your point is well taken, but this isn't a Hitman vs Batman page. It's a Superman vs Batman page and i maintain whole-heartedly that Superman has no chance against Batman.
If Batman couldn't be beaten why would anyone read the books about him? This phenomenon is one of the reasons I find it hard to be enthralled in Superman stories.
(yes irony spotters- I realize that sentence implies that Superman can't be beaten. Please read on.)
Anyway, there are several characters who you could say have "beaten" the Dark Knight and they all have one thing in common. The element of surprise.
Now, i know that I've said several times that being steps ahead of his opponents is the Batman's greatest strength and this I maintain, but every enemy that has beaten Batman has been either brand-new (i.e. Promethius, Hitman, Zeis, Azrael) or has been just as intellegent as Batman (Ra's al Ghul, Bane [In the comic he is a genius- Joel Schumacher can eat it], the Joker, maybe Hitman- I haven't read it.)
Batman KNOWS Superman. He knows his strengths, his weaknesses, his limits. THAT is why he would win and how he would be ahead.
I'd like to say that i've done no talking down to any Superman fans. Be a fan of what you want to.
-Sorry man, Batman would wipe the floor with Frank Castle. It's my feeling that the Ennis run is only good because of the characters that surround Punisher. Not because of Frank himself.
I'll see the movie anyway because I'm a hypocrite.
-You already know my stance on how he would fair against Custer.
-I don't know anything about the Gunslinger so I can't comment.
-If Hitman beat Batman in the comics then I have to say Hitman can beat him. I'm not one of those jackasses who says "It was in Hitman's comic so it doesn't count."
What issues did it occur in (or what tpbs)? I'd like to read them.
-Batman would wipe the floor with the Pilgrim in Gotham City pre-Burn. After the Burn I think the win would go to the Christian...maybe.
-the Saint of Killers...there would be no Dark Knight.
-Batman would beat Cassady if he figured out what he was and how to stop him (which is one of Batman's great strengths.)
Cassady would win if he were drunk (which is one of Cassaday's great strengths.)
This would be the best fight on here.
It's good to exchange ideas with someone who doesn't argue the same tired point over and over thus forcing me to argue the same counterpoint. thanks.
