I am by far the one person in this world you DO NOT want to ask. I have been in wayyyy too many relationships.
I would say sleep with her and then go onto her friends. Your not me....sooooo that leaves us to "What should Toaster do?"
Dude, I am told by many that I am brutally honest. Please don't take this the wrong way. I do need more details to give you wise advise.
Like:
Why would it screw you over?
Is she compatible?
Why do you think about her all the time?
Why do you just want to be friends?
Why would it be better in the long run if she didn't reject you?
I can give you all kinds of advise on relationships and how to make them work and what girls like..or even how to talk the pants off a Nun.
If you really don't want to date her and just be her friend. Do that. Look at her as a candy bar that will decay your teeth in 6 months if you eat it. It is never fair to go into a relationship self-centered. I always (in my older years) look at how my actions affect the people I come into contact with. Whether they are figments on the internet or someone I bury under my porch. Wait....those last 2 are linked. :-D
I personally like friends with benefits. Either way...I am just typing away and can't really give you any good advise with the little information you have given me.

P.S. Things are going a little better, I am starting to feel a little more myself everyday. Thank you Pete and Sherm for the thoughts. No good deed ever goes unrewarded. You guys might get buried under a tree.
