Richard made some good points but I have to make some corrections for him to think again.

1. Enga governor has only paid K1000. for all students in the tertiary insitutions around the country. HEre in UPNG, school fee for a self sponsor student is K5000 and the std pays the K4000 himself. An HECAS fee is K2255. The EPG pays K1000 and we pay the other K1255.
The AES fee is K1125 and we only pay K125. But most stds fall under HECAS and Self sponsor. you work it out.

2. On your second paoint, you have insulted the freedom to expression which is sated in the constitution. Why do you want the graduates to shut thier guts on national issues. come on..we are Engans ...Big Engans. We have to express our feelings.

And finally you must know that Some of us really comes from the very remote areas like Maramuni, paiela, HEwa, Yangis and etc where we see the EPG as our only hope.

Richard, if you have visited Enga recently, there is a clear sign of poverty....even people living below poverty level. Enga Economy is made up of Bettle Nut, Smoke, Beer Clubs, Container Stores, SecondHAnd clothes and sipsip parali market.
There was no money in our people's pockets. there was even no pigs to sell, tribal fifghts everywhere, no markets to sell our goods.
We really need EPG to pay some of our fees, not all but K1000 or K500 as usual.

thanks

UPNG Enga Schoolboy

You have been corrected by me THRICE on this forum before blowing the matter out of proportion by resorting to the media. As the self-proclaimed uni student you are, you should have accepted that the correction and rationale coming from me was legitimate as I am bound by blood to the MP you attempted to defame in the media. I even communicate with him regularly via Parliamentary e-mails and phone. But no, you stubbornly resorted to the media to vent your frustrations. The two local newspapers have been known to unprofessionally report whole unsubstantiated stories, and wouldn't you think it would be easier to misquote or misrepresent a mere number (K5000) rather than a whole story?!!

Mature and educated people should simply try to use the God-given common sense bestowed upon them. Besides that, you do not hold a professional ombudsman license to require a response from an elected representative of Parliament. Thus being a simple schoolboy you should at least see eye to eye with me, the son of the MP. How can you ever be an ombudsman or mature citizen if you cannot accept simple and authorized corrections?!

Not surprisingly, you have portrayed yourself to be an IMBECILE, with an IQ no better than a stubborn 3 year old baby, rather than one who openly seeks justice and truth. What is the difference between me publishing the facts compared to the MP's own executive officer? Didn't you understand the plain English laid out before you?! I have been in universities longer than you and I know when to accept authentic information coming from viable sources. You unfortunately cannot discern what is authentic or not, nor maybe, right or wrong!

Well, I must say you have made a laughingstock of yourself and your peers at UPNG, before this Forum and the nation. And you have been justly rebuked might I add. I wonder what those students whom you needlessly listed in the newspaper think of you now? (I know some of them personally and I'm sure you won't be getting any moral support.) If you are so serious about combating social issues such as HIV/AIDS and tribal warfare, I would suggest you start with your own backyard. Preach to your tribes and communities and put a personally concerted effort to attract political and public attention. I'm sure your HIV/AIDS certified students hail from areas throughout the province so you can return to your respective towns and villages for the holidays to preach the message with a notebook in hand. You do not need to talk about money all the time! Engan MPs have their own policies and plans on how to curb the social issues inflicting their electorates and province, and they can simply overlook you without a care in the world. And believe me, after your unnecessary mumbling in the papers, I must say you have done more harm than good for your student body's cause. I know firsthand that Polye, Kikala, Kaeok, Pundari and Ipatas have resolved NOT to entertain you students. Neither will you be recieving school fee subsidies next year (2008) apparently so keep striving in school and for your schoolboy's campaign initiative! I commend you for that!

As for me, I will focus on the issues at an electoral level through the Office of the Lagaip-Porgera MP.
