STOP TALKING ABOUT MARYANNE TOKOME –AMU
TALK ABOUT WAPENAMANDA
Why talk about Maryanne Tokome -Amu like this with all your 'what I may coin as' - CYBER VIEWS. Contesting the Elections is not a Gender issue, male nor female. Maryanne Tokome-Amu being a female does not restrict her from running the elections, this is a democratic nation and if she as chosen to run for the elections, that's it, it’s her democratic right and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Also, what’s wrong with the Clinic she as set up right in the heart of Kumbas Market? If it is politically motivated, so be it. For or Against Debate concerning the operations of this clinic has become the issue for justifying Maryanne Tokome –Amu which is to me immature. Politics is Politics and what she has done, with what ever intensions is all up to her. Whether she wins or looses is none of your problem. Some of you, come election time, I can tell you in your face that you won’t be home (Wapenamanda) to cast your celebrity votes so stop writing here as if your votes are what will be missing for some candidate to win.
But for each of you who are hovering here in this Forum and posting ideas, I challenge you to come up to Wapenamanda if you can make it when to some degree, election related activities are at their peak and personally tell Maryanne Tokome –Amu that she is wasting her time or even ask her why she has set up the Clinic. Maryanne Tokome –Amu has been at home (Wapenamanda) campaigning so I am pretty sure she will spare some time and answer your doubts.
Complains about her living in Aussie, well, what’s wrong with that? Are we saying that she made a mistake by transferring to work in Aussie or she living and working in Australia a stolen right that belongs to someone else? How can we possibly argue about her private life and how she earns her living? It’s her brains that brought her that far and what right have you got to make mention of her personal achievements. As I said, come home and ask her why she is running for this 2007 elections?
There is so much going on currently in Wapenamanda as the elections are just around the corner. It is a rumour that 15+ candidates are contesting the up coming elections and a surprising reaction by the people from Wapenamanda, Task and Lower Lai, exhibits a much confused populace. Candidates are seen being vocal about their race but generally, the people are quite now and keeping things to their own minds/hearts to cast the vote only when the time is right. Even though the national elections for 2007 are a couple of sleeps away, it is apparently eminent that the LPV voting system is yet to be fully comprehended by our local folks in the villages.
I ask us to talk about the LPV voting system and how it’s going to affect our normal way of voting in the past because to me, it looks like those that all of us think will win this 2007 Wapenamanada will not but someone who is totally unexpected will return to POM, House Of Parliament after the elections as MP for Wapenamanda, now lets talk about this, starting with the LPV issue back home.
