The moment I saw that article come up on the Post Courier (and after reading through it) the first thing that came to mind was that we were headed for greater problems in PNG, and I regret to say this but I feel there is a huge (99%) certainty around my thoughts that we're heading for bigger problems. It took me a moment to pause and think, "..where.. and what now?". My mind kind of quickly traversed the politicians and the head of State, asking myself "who is in charge of the country?", and then, why so?.
I guess this is a sad state, and mind you, just the tip of a huge ice-berg somewhere in the country. I mean, you think about it!! Not to mention the corruption stemming already in the Police Force, and the repetition of the millenium robbery last week or so. Can Somare solve this issue (I dont know, I am confused!!!) ?? Can Mekere solve it? (probably??..perhaps he can help), but wait he's in the Opposition! For the next 5 years lets think who is in Government that has the power to make such a drastic and positive outcome to weed and clean PNG thoroughly of such bad influence and precedence. I don't see no clarity, nor any answers to my questions and thoughts.
Perhaps we should resort to the Military (our next best option) for a possible Coup to take back control of the country. But then that same question again. Who's in the Military to help us take that lead. Singirok? He's retired and old. Walter Enuma ? Probably, but where is he? Peter Ilau?? No he's a puppet to the Australian and Somare Government. It does sound frustrating trying to think of someone to help stir us to shore. I can't think of anyone who can help. It hurts!!
But I guess this is just one practical reality we PNGeans have to face and live with, until after 5 more years from now.
