Polye attacked

DEPUTY Prime Minister Don Polye was allegedly shot at by rival candidates in his Kandep electorate at a political rally on Saturday.
Mr Polye, who was still in a state of shock, told the Post-Courier from Wabag yesterday that he would have been a dead man had it not been for his bodyguards and supporters.
He said police security guards allocated to the office of the DPM and his supporters who were at the grand stand literally sacrificed their bodies as shields to cover him from being shot.
“I saw a candidate firing shots using a revolver and kept on firing as the crowd fled for cover.
“The shots were fired at my people and I was protected by my guards who whisked me to my car and drove me to safety,” he said.
He said two men were shot. One man’s fingers were shot off while another had bullet wounds to his head but the bullet did not penetrate his skull. Both men were rushed to the hospital and were recovering, he said.
Mr Polye said he did not expect candidates to resort to arms but this has really shocked him and he was still lost for words. He said three known candidates had organised their supporters to destabilise his rally that drew a big crowd wanting to show their support for him.
“One of the candidates who is a prominent person, had a pistol in his hands and fired about seven shots while the master of the ceremony was still introducing the guests,” he said.
Another ex-policeman (named), who was terminated for allegedly stealing firearms, was also in the company of the three candidates and fired a M16 rifle at the crowd, he said.
The ex-police officer was identified and he was believed to be using one of those stolen firearms, he said.
Mr Polye said he was concerned about whether he should make this ordeal public information or not, adding it would paint a bad picture of the elections in the country.
“On the other hand, it is wise to inform the authority as to what measures can be taken against those perpetrators,” he said.
The rally was organised at the Kandep station by the Komai and Wapai clans of the main Alitip tribe to welcome Mr Polye as their guest speaker.
Mr Polye said the tribe did not support him in the previous elections but because he had delivered services, the tribe decided to call the rally to show their support for him in this election.
He said the gathering was meant for him and if other candidates wanted to say something against him, they should have approached in a professional way and not through the barrel of the gun.
“I thank God for saving my life.
“I don’t mind dying for my people as their leader but not in such a manner that is not warranted at all,” Mr Polye said.
He said if candidates wanted to unseat him, they did not have to shoot him down to occupy the seat but rather win it in a fair and balanced election.
Provincial police chief Teddy Tei said he was aware of the incident but had not received a full report from anyone as yet.

I am shocked as to how this kind of activity is tolerated. I am not a bit surprised as we are already killing each othe anyway in tribal fights.

Regardless of how innovative our ideas will be or how good our motives may be to change Enga, we can be rest assured that pure jealousy and the prevaling attitute that "I am mr RIGHT and you are mr WRONG will never see Enga change.

Malipu Balakau's death was a political assissination. you can speculate on the motives behind his assination. Now we see another good leader coming up and what do we do? TRY TO MURDER HIM!

Ola boi! If the good leaders are going to be intimated like this, Enga will continue to see corrupt selfish leaders rule.

I might as well stop calling myself an Engan.

peace

The real story of what happened in Kandep on that weekend is somewhat different to what Don Polye portrayed to the media.
Don Polye was to present himself at a political rally that was organised by some of the Kandep candidates on the Saturday so they would debate in front of the Kandep peoples.
However, Don arrived late around 5:00pm when the candidates and peoples waited for him in vain staring around 10am.
The candidates also had a summons to serve Don Polye wrt Don's non nominations for the Kandep Open. When Don was at the grand stand, a representative from the candindates approached Don to serve his summons, however here the security and police escorts beat the poor guy and threw him out (Don refers to this guy as the one who intended to shoot him). After realising this, the candidates asked Don from their PA system from a distance to take the summons infront of the crowd if he was a true leader and then Don's supporters shouted back and some stone throwing happened at each other.
As far as the people know, there was no gun fired as Don proclaims, it's all bullshit. He escaped to avoid getting the summons because there is only three weeks left before the polls and Don will have to answer this charges. The outcome of the summons may or may not eliminate him from the candidates list.
The truth will reveal later as it comes out since the scene never happened in darkness...a thousand people withnessed the incident and they only know what Don is saying is true or all bullsash...

RESPECT YOUR FELLOW CANDIDATE OR ELSE ……….

King Don Pomb Polye is the resurrected Late King Malipu Balakau and one of the true son and leader of the Enga Province, including PNG. We should whole heartedly support and respect him and let him lead us unopposed. Some stupid Animals in Kandep are trying to play marble with Him. If you are the same group of people that conspired with the death of King Malipu, some professional “hit man” or “bounty hunters” are now on your tail right now. We will NOT let this ever happen to King Polye again.

Although, I’m from the primitive Wa-ke in the Kandep District, I still mourn for King Malipu. We are crying for good leaders in Enga and yet some devils are tirelessly at work to destroy the upcoming leaders who are trying to put back Enga on the road to recovery and dignity.

Watch Out you jealous freaks !!!.......Genuine Engans brand you as BETRAYERS

Kandep is made up of five constituencies name Lai, Mariand, Upper Wa-ke, Middle Wa-ke and Lower Wa-ke. Please take note again that there are THREE Wage constituencies. Don is from the Mariand constituencies, However, BASE VOTE Bilong Don I stap long WA-KE. We Wages are marching Don in for his second Term. In this General Election, there is NOT a single Candidate form Wage only few “Half Cook” or “Half Wa-kes”. The Real Wa-kes, we are unanimously going for King Polye. Maski mipela ol Kanaka na tu King Don i lo lain bilong mipela, tasol taim bilong vote, mipela bai Lokim Stret #1 Vote bilong King Polye.

We know who our true leader is and we don’t blindly vote in cowards and power hungry people like Peter Mission Yaki, Alfred Massaseh, etc. Peter Mission ???...we Wa-kes know him really well that he is a “KONMAN”. We do not even know him, he is just on a planned mission to taint the image of King Polye. Most Probably on a bribery mission.

Come to Wa-ke in Kandep and see it for yourself. Litiyoks like Peter Mission must stop wasting everybody’s time with petty politics, coz he’s a definitely looser; King Polye is definitely returning for another term. Remember, we Wa-kes will give King Polye the mandate if people of Mariand are NOT going to stand up and fight for there son.

WA-KE SALUTE YOU, Rt Hon. King Don Pomb Polye. DPM

Who is Polye?

Polye is just like any other first degree holder that anyone from a street could gain......

If he can reckoned Mr Alfred Manase and Peter Mission to be unqualified pesrons with expired knowledge, I would personally want to know if Mr Polye has ever constructed a bridge or constructed a road after passing out of Unitech as a civil engineer.....

Otherwise, people know you as a culvert menter and a real conman.
Take a log out of yoyr eyes first before you see others properly

Late Malipu Balakau can not be match with Don. He still stays the Pinnacle of engan leadership. OK, give a 'B' Score to Don but reserve the 'A++' for late Balakau.

If Wages want to make Polye King then its fine for them but the rest of us Kandepens want a Servant of the people. We don't need a King but a King maker-somebody who will promote Kandepens to jobs, businesses, sponsor students to pursue higher education and bring real development to our people.
If your King can not deliver on these things and is going around with bag full of money buying votes then he does not deserve a second term in Parliament.

Chicko,

Did you see Tuesdays (19/06/07)News?......If NOT then read the news below.

Yupela ol liklik mangi ya, Peter Mission, Not Match To King Polye..!!!!

"Candidate charged with attempted murder" - 19/06/07

A CANDIDATE in the Enga province has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Kandep Open candidate Peter Mision was arrested and charged by Wabag police last Friday with one count of attempted murder under section 304 of the Criminal Code.
Police allege that Mision was among a group of people who attempted to shoot Deputy Prime Minister Don Polye during an election rally in Kandep on June 9.
Provincial police commander Superintendent Teddy Tei confirmed the arrest of Mision yesterday and added that police were seeking to interview three other candidates and two of their supporters.
Mr Tei said that Mision, 40, from Pobo village in the Kandep district, was charged by Enga police after he was alleged to have been among the four candidates who mobilised their supporters and disrupted a rally organised for Mr Polye in Kandep.
Highlands divisional police commander, Assistant Police Commissioner Simon Kauba said Mision was released on K1,400 bail by the Mt Hagen National Court last Saturday.
Mision was represented by lawyer from the Public Solicitor’s office George Korei, who made the trip from Wabag to Mt Hagen to seek bail from Justice Allen David.
Mr Korei told The National from Wabag that his client maintains that there was no attempt to assassinate anyone in Kandep.
“We will be defending the charge vigorously. We have evidence that suggest the charge was politically motivated to derail his elections. We ask police to be neutral in their duties,” the defence lawyer said.
Mision has a case pending in the National Court against Mr Polye, in which he claims Mr Polye failed to nominate properly.
He is seeking to have Mr Polye removed from the ballot.
His arrest has added a new twist to contest.

Polye is not a pure Kandepen!

It is apparent to every Kandepens that Polye is a Hagen fellow but he claims to be a Kandepen and as such he is corrupting the entire District.....

The indigeniou people of Kandep must now think that your are the one who were borned in Kandep, will stay in Kandep and of course will die in Kandep so your decision to vote in 2007 election must be very critical.......However, if you try to sell your votes for Mr Somare's ID card (K50.00),
then I would say that ones who are eating rice and enjoying their lives from outside of Kandep will always live like this you the poor one be a slave of your own place......

Polye will have no murcy on you and your complain for better services will be a waste of time and effort and the next campaign period will be a double paste of Somare's ID and you will definitely become a stray dogs in your homeland...

Be brave and think smart....

He He He Jolya,

If You are saying that Polye is not an indegenous Kandepan than you are most primitive Kandepan ever exist in Kandep. You are blind by your own jealous perception and misconception.

See the facts below;

1. Polye is from Kandep Origin and Not from Hagen, therefore Don is a real Kandepan
2. Don i gat karuka bush na haus man long ples bilong em, em no wanpela faul man olsem yu.
3. Don can speak his Kandep Language 100 percent, em mangi long ples tu ya.
4. Em givim wan gol lo yupela bikos em save speakim Hagen tokples fluent.

The fact is that, Not all candidates are based in Kandep. Some are based in POM, Lae, etc. They are far more worse then Don, because they are thousands of miles away form home and only show up during election time.

You should be very critical when you mentioned Somare's name. We kandepans owe the founding father of this nation. The Kandep district is now becoming popular because of one of their son is now a Deputy Prime Minister through Somare and NA. WE SALUTE YOU GRAND CHIEF.

Don oh, Mipela ol Kandep i kisim biknem lo yu oh !!!!

Peace.......
Kandepan
