The following is a posting at “Lae Board” - PNGSCAPE; which I assume was posted by a foreigner that is looking for a good farmland.

I found the last response to the posting from the anonymous person interesting. It can be seen that the person was aware of the true value of his land and wants to maximize the returns.

That I believe is the mindset that we all Papua New Guineans should embody when dealing with land sales in PNG.

The eras in which hundreds of fertile land were sold for tobacco, steel axe, and matches are over.

We must learn the tricks of the trade that neo-colonialists have been using to rob us and put an end to that immediately.

I have a big block farm land in Port Moresby, (14-15 mile, sogeri road) but my final and non-negotiable offer is 51% ownership and title are mine. You can have 49% ownership after a binding and successful agreement.

You can develop and pay rent to me for doing your business for a long term lease.

How does that sound?

Put your email address so we can discuss more if you're interested.

Coloninization has forever changed the lives and traditional way of life for original land owners and people. In many countries indigenous people have had their land dispossessed, land lost forever and rural people relocated to settlements with little or no land where that can provide food for living or survival.

The new PNG government however made a statement in the Constitution to protect traditonal culture and lands.

Keep your land and culture tight because "land is life".
