I woudn't think you would need lights in the pen with the chicks if they are staying with mamma. They will stay under her at night and even most of the day until they get a little older. Mom will watch them. No need to board up the doors. As for the waterers. If they are the wateres that have small troughs them you won't need to have marbles or rocks in them. Just make sure they can't get anything but their heads in them and you will be ok. Those little quart waterers are perfect for chicks..
Male turkeys will sometime fight with each other. How old are they? They may just be practicing for when they get older. If you have hens and they are breeding age, the males will compete for the right to breed. Do you let them free Range. Let me know a little more about them.
