Oh how wonderful it is to see you both! Moon....we need you, I need you! You 2 are going to do this....I just feel it! I really need some inspiration and you 2 are definitely supplying that! My progress is snail's pace these days....like a 1/2 lb every few weeks!!!! But nonetheless I just past the 1 year mark of my regime at 63 lbs lighter.

Moon, as far as the carbs go....all carbs are not created equal. Neither are fats for that matter. the carbs you want are raw veggies and fresh fruits. I eat some grains...but try as much as possible for whole grains. the exception I have made is that I have gotten ahold of some 35 calorie a slice hearty wheat bread from the supermarket and have been making a huge veggie and turkey breast sandwich every day. It has been keeping me very satisfied till supper. I usually eat a huge salad with lite but real olive oil dressing and some kind of lean protein. If I don't do a salad I do steamed non-starchy veggies like green beans, broccolli, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach, etc. with the lean protein.

I suggest writing down your favorite types of meals and then sitting with a calculator and calorie counts book and figuring out how to have your favorites and stiill stay within your calorie/carbs range each meal. If you try for under 250 for breakfast, under 325 for lunch, under 400 for supper that is only 975, leaving you with a few hundred calories to play with for your snacks. You can go on one of those on-line calculators like at e-diet.com to find out how many calories you can eat each day and still loose weight. try to stay under say 1500 for now n(you will have to lower that when you get to weighing less) and work in some excercise each day (even if all you do is march in place for 10 minutes 3X a day for now). You don't have to do much to make it effective actually. the arms way up over the head gets the heart rate up enough, also.

My big thing is that I am not excercising much these days. You 2 are such a shot in the arm to me!

Oh BTW....that 5-HTP that I use to cut cravings is a life-saver. I have done experiments with taking it and not taking it and I have concluded it is a significant aide to not wanting to munch. Also along with that I have been making sure I add healthy fats to every meal in tiny portions....raw unsalted nuts (like 3 or 5), avacado ( a small slice), olive oil such as in the salad dressings, etc. I don't use butter or margarine at all. A nice salad dressing to try is a new one from Paul Newman called lite balsamic vinagarette....at only 40 calories per 2 T it is great since it has real olive oil!! Good taste! If your supermarket doesn't have it ask them to get it.

Keep posting you beautiful women you!

hugs!
Dreemy
