I wanted to let you keep your weightloss progress thread just for your own posts as you keep a log of your progress....but wanted to tell you... I have the same thing happen during and sometimes right before my period. It is pretty much every time. No matter what i do, my body holds onto the (has to be water) weight like super glue until i am at the end, and then drops off. I do weigh myself everyday. If I didn't I wouldn't know I had dropped down to a lb or two during the week and then up again for weigh-in!! That really drives me crazy. But i notice I have downward TRENDS. So i may see a certain number on the scale as a lowest point and then not see it again for a few days and then like you say, bamm I am there again. My scale shows 1/2 lb differences, which makes it really interesting at times. The big trick is not to let one's emotions be influenced by the scale. I have a hard time with that but have tried to see it as a guide and not an absolute. I mean a variation of a lb to a few lbs can be water...whereas I know that a gain of 4 or 5 lbs is probably a problem I have to address and not kid myself!! But I try to let my head override the fluctuations on the scale and the little ups and downs. If I know I am doing all the right things then I try not to let the scale not behaving get to me...but it can be tough waiting out those water retention times.

I drink a tea made by traditional medicinals called PMS tea which helps a lot. I drink it all month! Also grapefruit helps as does of course avoiding salty foods beginning at the half-way point in your cycle or 2 weeks before your period. Start reading the sodium counts in everything you eat and getting familiar with them. The salt is hidden in so much that we are used to eating. Fruits are the great cleansers. That and drinking more water before and all during your period will help.

Keep up the great work!!
hugs,
Dreemy
