These supplements are very popular. You can even get them at drug stores, or walmart, etc. I tried them for a week (the week right after my period which is normally an easy weightloss week for me) and I didn't lose any weight...but I didn't gain any either. I was eating a lot more starchy carbs than I have in over a year.... a lot more...I was eating hoagies, potatoes, tortilla chips, pretzels, etc. similar to if I had been on a weightwatcher's type of plan...in moderation...maybe a bit more than that.

So my conclusion is that they are good to know about, good to carry a few in your purse and have a bottle at home....so if you are out and decide to eat starchy carbs that you wouldn't normally have chosen...or you are at someone's house for supper and they make a starchy meal...well you can pop a couple before the meal and not have as much panic about the scale the next day! But as far as weightloss....I didn't think they were doing anything. If you think about it....you still are going to get 25% of the calories from those foods....and basically I don't usually eat those starchy carbs, especially in the evening. So I didn't feel that continuing with that plan was for me.

The next week's woman's world article, however DID turn out to be an amazing break-through discovery! (see my post titled "Amazing Breakthrough!" I will keep some starch blockers on hand for "emergencies". But I would rather make healthier food choices on a day-to-day basis, and feed my body with what it needs to be its best.

learning,
Dreemy
