ok, so by the end of week #3, I had lost a total of 9 lbs...and this in the middle of my period. So I was pretty impressed.

I definitely do not recommend week #3. I felt like it was TOO stringent. I stopped adhearing to it a few days short of the total 3 weeks and went back to week #2's plan for those couple of days. Week 3 is no fruit, and very little carbs. I got hungry. I didn't feel all energized and terrific like I had the previous 2 weeks. So I added back some fruit and a tad more protein. Now I am on week #1 of the 12 week program. It seems like a LOT of food! You can even have bread on this week. I'm not expecting to actually lose more weight this week. I figure my body will have to re-group after the quick start 3-week plan. But being down almost another 10 lbs is such a difference in how I look and feel I am in 7th heaven. I can finally comfortably wear a pair of jeans that I have only been able to squeeze uncomfortably into since back in april. The damn things are a fitted size 16...but I still feel like a million bucks nonetheless! (Trying not to think much about the fact that the rest of my old jeans are like sizes 7 and 8's!! ugh!) I wrote in my journal, "I am in this for the long-haul. No matter how long it takes...I am going all the way..and then NEVER AGAIN back up!"

So here I go into the 12-week program (if you need to lose more weight after that then you just start over at a week 1 for whatever level you need to be at calorically.) Here is the truly amazing thing...for the first time since I can ever recall I have not felt the need to cheat, or hit even the sugar free chocolate, or any other indulgence. I have a "stash" of all those goodies...but have not touched anything in almost a month now. They are just not "calling" to me anymore!!! This is so amazing to me, because my whole life I have had a huge sweet tooth. I mean I carry tootsie roll pops in my purse....and sugar free chocolate and stuff. So after the first week on the quick start, I realized I hadn't felt the urge to cheat even once. So as I was packing for our trip to NH I went through my small travel bag and purse and pulled out all the little treats and threw them in my drawer....left them home. Never missed them. It is just about the most amazing thing I have ever experienced since this has been a real issue for me my whole life. You know how you think to yourself that if only you wouldn't have that emotional attachment to food and give in to emotional eating? I always wished I could just decide what to eat based on what was good and healthy for me. And here I am...doing just that, and enjoying all the healthy food, and not having cravings. Just mind-blowing for me. I will keep you guys posted on how this continues. But for now am revelling in feeling like I am not a victim of my own urges, as well as being able to wear bikini underwear and not have my stomach hang over!!!!!

hugs,
Dreemy
