I have lost 1 more lb. But the nice thing about it is that it makes a nice even total of -40 lbs.

I am trying to be realistic about this....it has been more than 7 years since I have been this far down...and then it was two years that I had been climbing from being slim to getting to this weight. While I don't want to accept the concept that it could take 2 years for me to get the rest of the way to my goal...i do think it is only realistic and logical that the rest of the way will be slow-going. Afterall, my body has gotten very comfortable with these fat cells and isn't likely to give up this last frontier easlily. I figure I have at least as far to go as i have already come (if not more), but that it will take me significantly longer to get there. Especially considering that the first month I lost 12 lbs, but that since then i have averaged about 7 lbs a month. With this in mind i have anywhere from 5 to 8 months more ahead of me.

Now, as you said, Sapphire, maintaining one's weight is even more important than the weightloss. I don't think I can see myself doing the dancercize for a half-hour to 45 min 7 days a week for the rest of my life. Already I am skipping more than i did the first 4 months. Here, in month 5, I am wanting to vary my excericize and take breaks here and there. We are to go over to my mom's Saturday and will be stuck in the car for the long trip there and back all in one day. Normally I would not want to leave until I had done my dancercize out of fear of varying my routine, and jeoprodizing my progress....but I am planning to take a good long walk once we are over there, rather than the dancercize. I am thinking I could live with 3 to 4 days a week of excercize long-term, and am hoping that would be enough for maintianing.

We are down to 4 of us for thanksgiving dinner. We usually have about twice that. I am thinking it is a blessing actually since there will be no one there who will expect a fat-laden spread. My mom is a major salad -lover and my husband and daughter will be supportive. My biggest temptation isn't the pies but the stuffing. I make a mean stuffing and It is sooooo good. Ahhhhh! I am going to increase the celery, apples and onions, and use no bacon fat (yeah, that's right i usually make it with bacon fat! yikes!) But only non-stick spray. I think I can indulge in a small portion if I make it this lower-cal way.

thanks for listening,
Dreemy
