You know there are as many conflicting views on this subject as there are on the various diet plans and theories out there. So aside from all the stuff I have read which is obnoxiously vast and conflicting, I'll just tell you what I have found works for me. I can't eat after supper (normal supper time) and lose weight. I can't excercise too late or I can't sleep at night. If I try to excercise too early I have no flexibility. As far as walking I can do it any time pretty much if it is moderately paced. For example a walk after supper seems to really do well even if it is short like 10 or 15 minutes and in addition to my "normal" excercise earlier. I think I have the most energy and best flexibility anywhere's from late morning to mid afternoon for my dancercise. However I have frequently ended up doing it right before supper time. Supposedly you continue to burn more calories for hours after a cardio work out of any kind. I have also read you can deplete your fat stpres best if you do a cardio work out before breakfast. This is just hard for me to manage most days. If I was going to do what I think is ideal for me i would do my dancercise or heavy workout when I had the most energy and least chance of distraction...probably anywhere from 11 AM to 12:30 PM, (instead of procrastinating till late afternoon which has happened more and more...and then sometimes I don't get to it) and then try for a moderate shorter walk after supper whenever I could. Anywhere's from 10 to 20 minutes.

I am really glad you raised this question since it makes me look at what I am doing more closely and ponder better ways of doing things. I definitely need to set up my treadmill and try to jump on that for 10 to 15 minutes here and there when the weather won't cooperate. I have been making too many excuses to not excerise.

The other thing about the time of day thing is that the evening is the worst time for me to munch and wreck an otherwise really good diet day. Those after dinner walks used to help stop that temptation. Then I would just come back and drink a ton of water and be all proud of myself and not eat in the evening hours.

Excercising earlier in the day also takes up time that I am not munching cause I can't eat right before or right after. hehe...anything that works you know what I mean!

BTW...I am not losing anything whatsoever these days. I have been trying hard in spurts, but not consistently. This wonderful change in the weather may be just what I need to get past this slump...I sure hope so. Oh OH Oh there was also a free coupon for 1 week at the nearby health club....hmmm interesting timing.

hugs,
Dreemy
