OK so I couldn't stay on the atkins plan. I did it for 3 days. I felt stiff and achy. I had NO energy. And then I woke up the 4th day with a hideous headache like I hadn't had since before I started my weightloss program back last summer. I used to get them all the time before I started my diet regime, but not at all since. So I dumped the atkins plan and ate my usual stuff....kashi with lots of fruit....a half a grapefruit....big salad with lean protein for supper, etc. The scale never went down during the whole week. Then on Saturday I relaxed a bit. My husband had just returned from being over seas, we were hanging out and gallavanting around together for the day. I had a meatloaf sandwich for lunch (!!!!!) and munched on raw cashwes and unsalted pretzels in the car while we were driving. Then we had chinese food for supper. I had shrimp with veggies and ate a big plate but no rice. We sat and watched a movie and then late at night I decided to take some of the plain rice and heat it in the microwave with raisins, sweet'n'low and milk like rice pudding! I never excercized all day.

The next morning the scale had dropped down to the lowest point again after being up for weeks. (and no, I hadn't even had a BM) This is so illogical! I thought maybe part of it was that I had just ended my period and let go of water retention. But, no matter what, I took it as an inspiration and was so good all day Sunday and not only did my dancercize but we took a 50 minute power walk as well. I was sure that I would finaly have the breakthrough I'd been hoping for and that the next day i would at least drop a half a lb finaly having broken the month and a half long plateau.

But the next morning after a nice big ole BM the scale was UP by 3 and a half lbs. I am sure that despite the closed windows in the winter here that the whole neighborhood must have heard me scream.

I wrote in my journal. "I don't know what to do or what to eat anymore...this is so confusing and frustrating".

So I am doing the things that have worked in the past...the logical stuff....balanced stuff. The same stuff I have been doing with previous success since last summer. I am staying with the "program"....no new diets, no new trends or experiments. I will keep you posted.

*sigh*
