Sounds like your son is doing very well. Being young he is still growing and his body changing, but the healthy eating habits and exercising practices will make it that much easier for him as an adult so maybe "dieting" won't be as much of a concern. Pat him on the back for me.

I know I shovel snow around here in the winter and it's very physical work. Just make sure he doesn't overdo it. Many people, even young people, have been known to have heart attacks/pain while shoveling snow. Tell him not to try and finish the entire driveway or walkway in one outing. Take it in slow increments. I find that workout videos work well in those winter months when one can't get outside as much. Or head to your local mall so he can walk indoors. Most malls have a "walker" sheet that shows the path to take and the miles walked.
