Subject: ELVIS a Monte Python fan?

The lastest issue of the New Yorker is running an article, "Sixteen Tons of Fun", about Eric Idle bringing the Holy Grail to Broadway--and it mentions ELVIS:
"Elvis Presley, a big fan, was known to quote Idle's "Nudge Nudge" skit to his friends". One wonders if Elvis also liked the "Spanish Inquisition" skits.

All seriousness aside, if you missed Conan O'Brien last night, you blew it, because Conan, the most creative comic on TV, played a department store Santa who ended up depressed and drinking a Heineken in a bar ( bar=saloon=GHS, Nudge Nudge!). At one point in the skit, Conan put epaulettes on his Santa suit, pinned 'war' medals on the coat and sported a Civil War type sword because he, Conan, wanted to show that Santa had been 'around'. He also refused to wear his belt buckle in the center of his costume and pulled it rakishly over to one side. The first half hour of Conan is presently the best comedy on TV, "I kid you not".
