I think this story was very well-crafted, both technically and with storytelling skills in mind. Oddly, I think I might have enjoyed it more if it were not a BtVS fanfic. In saying that, I mean that it was so far removed from what I know as the Buffyverse, that I couldn't get a mental or emotional connection going.

The environment was wholly different, and the characters were not the Buffy and Angel I know. With those things in mind, I struggled to find an intellectual thread, or an emotional interest in finding out what happened next. Had I never watched the show and picked this story up blind, I think I'd have been fascinated. As it was, I felt a bit disjointed because I never developed a mental or emotional "vested interest" in what happened. I could have stopped reading at any time and not felt a loss.

Still, it was extremely well-written overall, so I'll give it an 85.
