She lifted her chin, looking ahead at Gabriel's back and her sister's pale fur flitting through the sun-and-shadow of the open woods. It was a very good feeling, to be traveling with a purpose, with good company and few worries. Her thoughts rested briefly on her family and the Tribe, but she pushed them away quickly, reasoning that it was far easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission.

::You don't think Da will be too mad, do you?:: she asked Nashota quietly. ::I mean, us running off on an adventure, and all...after what happened to Jemelin. She went out 'sploring and never came home, remember? My litter-sister died 'cause of adventure. I jus'...I don' want them to worry, y'know?::
